It’s official! Diwa Dogs’ first local event is happening on January 25, 2025 at August Cafe here in Cagayan de Oro city.
I’m so stoked to have dog-loving folks in the city bring their dogs to have good coffee ☕ and learn 📚 how to improve their companions’ wellbeing.
This first session’s all about enrichment—what it is, why it’s important for your dog, why it’s important for the humans, and examples of easy enrichment activities you can give to your dog.

An important heads-up about your dog
The great thing about August Cafe is how spacious their outdoor seating and receiving area is.
I don’t have photos, but here’s a video of Sappho exploring the location:
And because it’s spacious and well-maintained, your dogs are going to love hanging out here while meeting new doggy faces!
If, however, your dog’s not comfortable with meeting other dogs, has shown reactivity when people or dogs would go up to them, or is just clearly afraid of being in such a different place, I recommend two options:
- Visit August Cafe during weekdays where it’s quiet and you can have all the place to yourself. It’s pet-friendly and will let you dog explore to their heart’s desire! Just bring 💩 bags in case they need to relieve themselves.
- Leave your dogs at home. Yes, it’s totes okay for Brownie to be at home while you’re with us. I’d rather you and your dog are stress-free. Plus, you can still bring home enrichment activities you can do together!
