Let’s Keep Practicing: Clicks and Resets 001

Practice, practice, practice.

Whenever I fall into a slump with work or growing Diwa Dogs, I spend a few minutes practicing my mechanical skills. In this video, I work with Windy in our living room, our Christmas tree fully decorated, and my clicker on hand.

The objective is just to click for behaviors I want to reinforce—the chin rest, stepping or sitting on the Propel, and more. I’m also closely observing Windy’s decision-making and what she thinks will always get her to reinforcement.

Reviewing the session, my timing’s still off and I know I could’ve done better, so I’m eager to get back to regular training when the holidays are over.
