On Instagram, I post many enrichment games and activities I give to my Diwa Dogs. It’s both an opportunity to share the benefits of canine enrichment and a fun way to see how each individual processes the activity and solves the “mystery” and get to their reinforcement.
I call these “Enrichment Tuesdays” since they’re usually published on a Tuesday, but here on the blog search for “canine enrichment” or “dog enrichment”, and browse through the different activities we do here at Diwa Dogs.
Putting treats in a cup was one I spotted early on in my R+ journey. What Dogs Want Academy (@whatdogswant on Instagram) shared a video of one of their students taking treats out of cups.
Here’s our take on the game:
Level 1 of this game is placing cups or containers filled with treats in an open tray or box. Then place it on the ground and let your dog have it.
Level 2 is closing the box and letting your dog figure out how to open it and get to the treats.
Windy is a pro at these types of puzzles, but I’d love to see how your dog processes and solves this activity on their own.
Try this at home and feel free to tag @diwadogstraining on Instagram to your post or story. I’d love to see!
